Senior Scientist II
Wyss Institute at Harvard University
Dr. Chandrav De is a Senior Scientist in the Bioinspired Therapeutics and Diagnostics Platform at the Wyss Institute for Biologically Inspired Engineering at Harvard University. He earned his Ph.D. in Microbiology and Immunology from the SUNY Upstate Medical University followed by postdoctoral fellowships at the Institute for Global Health and Infectious Diseases at UNC Chapel Hill and the Department of Biological Sciences at UNC Charlotte. Chandrav’s research has spanned across multiple disciplines including pre-clinical translational research, immunology, oncology and infectious diseases. After finishing his postdoctoral training, Chandrav was part of the pre-clinical and in vivo pharmacology teams at two different biotech companies developing therapies against oncology and autoimmune diseases. At the Wyss Institute his research utilizes the Organ Chip technology to investigate the role of the human immune system in multiple disease areas for vaccine and drug development. Chandrav’s research also involves development of novel Organ Chip models to emulate various human diseases for better understanding of human specific disease pathology leading to development of novel therapeutics.
